Imported records must meet the same permissions, required fields, and validation rules enforced by Odoo. Your existing controls apply to AI imports, too.
AI cannot browse your Odoo records.
AI receives the model and field definitions it needs to understand your Odoo setup. It has no tools to proactively read or search your business records. When the import needs to match a related record, Odoo performs the lookup and returns only the references and check results needed for that import.
Your files are not AI training material.
All AI used by DataInlet operates with zero data retention: inputs and responses are not kept after processing or used for general model training or product improvement, except retention strictly required by law.
DataInlet stores files and import history under its own retention and deletion policies, separate from AI processing.

Connect Odoo.
Install the compatible addon and connect your DataInlet account.
Upload your file. Instructions are optional.
AI uses your file and Odoo fields to work out what goes where. Add a note only if you have a particular requirement.
Run the import.
AI handles the import without step-by-step confirmations. For imports started on the DataInlet website, keep the task page open while it runs. When it finishes, open the records in Odoo or review what needs attention.
The Odoo connector is free; DataInlet AI usage is a paid service metered in Credits. No separate model API key is needed for the managed service.
Questions before your first import?
Do I need to reformat my spreadsheet?
You do not need to rebuild a standard import template. DataInlet reads CSV and XLSX files, including supported layouts with merged cells, details in different areas, and embedded images. PDF and scanned-document imports are not supported.
Will it work with my Odoo?
Your environment must support installation of the DataInlet addon. Standard Odoo Online does not support this addon path. Check the published version and deployment requirements; custom fields and image destinations may need configuration.
Do I have to set up field mappings first?
No. AI works out the mappings from your file and the fields supplied by Odoo. An Import Profile is optional: an administrator can use one to give recurring instructions or add controls. Any configured rules still apply.
Do I need to stay and guide the AI?
Autopilot needs no step-by-step guidance. If required information or permissions are missing, it stops and explains what needs attention. For imports started on the DataInlet website, keep the task page open, the device awake, and the network connected; closing the page stops further automatic steps. Imports started inside Odoo are advanced by its scheduled runner while the Odoo service and connection remain available. Choose Interactive mode when starting a task you want to guide through a conversation.
Do I need my own AI account?
Not for the managed service. DataInlet manages model access; usage follows its subscription and Credits policies. See pricing for the current offer.
